Polynesian and the Tiki craze started in the 1950's when men came back from WWII and had traveled to the islands and brought back the idea to the US. Malwar Chalkware was established in the 1960's and this Vintage Island Bust was one of the busts they created back then.
This Island Lady Bust has her hair pulled back into a bun and is wearing cream colored earrings and she is in good condition. She has a small chip on her upper lip. It is easily fixed with a bit of paint. There is no makers mark on the bottom. This would be a lovely addition to a Tropical, Hawaiian or Tiki styled space.
